Friday, Jan 8th went as a momentous day when our English Club’s brainchild - ECTV has been publicized after a painstaking launching period. ECTV is the official broadcasting television of English Club – FTU which is not only designed for educational purposes but also for the development of students.

ECTV Introduction day started with a introductory clip that was warmly welcomed and highly praised by both ECers and audiences.

ECTV is made up of four channels: Enews, ECulture, Estudio, Eguide. Except for Enews which will be launched in the near future, ECTV has successfully launched the other three channels and has received positive comments from everyone. Let’s take a look at these interesting clips: ECTV

Then came talks by ECTV’s sub-group representatives. To begin with, English news is designed to provide various pieces of interesting and even sensational news and a monthly news review program. By talking and discussing, we can update and flower ourselves in a new way. Besides, English guide is well suited for studying English through video clips with unlimited uses of English explained and guided clearly and appealingly. You can feel the difference that our English Guide Channel brings about: we don’t offer the old traditional way of studying English but a totally new technique: studying English in topics. Each clip is about a topic; in that way you can remember the related words better. Also, hearing opinions from very different people will enlarge your knowledge. (check out Eguide clips about Christmas: Xmas Around The World.) In each clip we will attach the script as a helping tool if anyone has some troubles with the listening.

English culture aims at cracking how the world is moving around you. Do you know about the cool places suitable for students to hang out? Or have you ever picked up a fruit but can’t say its name in English? Eculture is just the tool for you! Improving your English and broadening your social knowledge are what we aim at. The Eculture representative really conveyed our messsage to the audience by her charming way of talking and a very interesting game in which you have to guess the places. The audience had a good laugh but also realized the lacking social knowledge that they need to fulfil. Last but not least, English studio provides you with all the latest music video clips which are filmed, edited, and starred by  members from English club themselves.

ECTV is particularly a long term plan of developing English skills on a personal level. While years of education, training and experiences are necessary to succeed, learners of tomorrow will defined themselves by their skills. The youth, born on the right side of the digital divide, want to think out of the box, and learn by methods that does not involve any box at all. ECTV, a technology-reliant studying method, is built to act as such a tool for long term achievements.

It is a matter of fact that everything new is not fully embraced.  Audiences , despite their  initial enthusiasm, showed some boredom during the day. However, as a saying goes : “The early bird catches the worm” , ECTV as a pioneer will definitely soon attract attention and concern from students both in FTU and nation-wide.
