Post-effects of FTM’s Qualification Round
Saturday, Jan 16th, is a cold winter day but warmed and heated by the big event Front The Most 2010 held by English Club, FTU.
Thank you, ECers, for despite cold weather, gathered at room D102 and D202 to set things up, giving candidates instructions and encouragement, all hoping for the success of the forthcoming event. And the fact is far from disappointment.
Candidates themselves did impress judgers as well as ECers with their enthusiasm, creativity and thirst for learning. Their topics varied from common ones like environment and music to unusual ones like gay community or riding bicycle. They also adopted different, unique and creative styles, as Nguyen Hong Trang- President of English Club- has put it: "We have more candidates this year than the last year, and their quality is much better." However, their being equally talented and gifted also means our confusion in telling which top ten participants are. This also means students are not unique and outstanding enough, and there is still room for improvement.
As for candidates, some are quite satisfied with what they have done, some showed a little regret of not being well- prepared or being too nervous. Some expressed their feelings in an unexpected way, as Tran Phuong Linh said: "FTM is very interesting, I am now very excited to join EC next year, if I have a chance". Don't worry, no chance will be deprived of enthusiastic and talented students, so keep on trying. We would like to send deep thank to our judges today: Mr Zack Pinson from IELTS Academy and Miss Quynh Anh- a familiar and professional MC on television. They are very keen on discovering students’ talent, giving them encouraging words as well as useful advice for their presentation improvements. Since the training session and final round are still ahead of us, it will be a great honor to meet our judgers again.Sincere thanks should also be sent to students who have missed the chance to join FTM this time but spent some time joining as spectators. After learning something for yourselves, welcome you guys next year!
Again, I would like to express profound gratitude to English Club for holding such a beneficial and interesting event as FTM. May such a playing ground would be spread nation-wide to cater for everyone.
Join us, Join EC! Come as guests, stay as family!
